"I had lost weight"
I began my crossfit journey in April 2012, just a couple of days after my daughter’s 1st birthday. I cried after seeing pictures of myself from her birthday party and realized I had to do something. Jogging, along with my sporadic sets of crunches and push-ups, was obviously not enough to help me shed even half of the 70 lbs I gained with my pregnancy. I stumbled across crossfit by accident and didn’t know much about it. I loved the idea of having a coach and working out with a class to help keep me motivated. Crossfit has helped me to become mentally stronger than ever. I have been lucky enough to have highly skilled coaches that always focus on safety. I have not had to go to a chiropractor, PT, or receive steroid injections since beginning crossfit. This is a big deal because I have been in and out of doctors offices due to scoliosis and bulging discs since I was 15.
Even though I had lost weight and my body had changed quite a bit after 2 years of crossfit, I was still suffering from depression, anxiety, migraines, anemia, GI issues, constant fatigue, and acne. All these symptoms became exacerbated when I became pregnant with my 2nd child in January 2014. In the short 2 months since I began training at SPRAG, I have had major improvements in my overall health. Not only have I received exceptional training, but the nutrition counseling has been life changing for me. Blaine has helped me stay on track with my nutrition goals and has given me valuable tips. By improving my nutrition, I no longer suffer from depression, anxiety, migraines, anemia, GI issues, acne, or constant fatigue. I feel better at 26 weeks pregnant than I have ever felt in my life! I am so grateful for crossfit and especially Crossfit SPRAG!! Blaine and Adam truly care and understand each athletes goals. They go above and beyond to help us reach and exceed our goals. I plan to continue training there indefinitely and am so excited to keep striving to be the best me I can be with the help of Crossfit SPRAG!
